REMEMBER ME 2000
In the near future, we will be living in a massively networked and sensored world in which every objectof daily living will be able to transfer information. This environment will allow for greater access and manipulation of data and offers limitless avenues for design intervention. The RememberMe 2000 is a device that utilizes the networked environment to help our faulty human brains remember to bring all of our devices.
In order to have the RememberMe 2000 remind you of what you forgot, once you get to the office, all you need to rememberis to bring is the RememberMe chip. The functionality of this device is, of course, ironic, which is a commentary on the unrealistic expectation of designed objects to solve any problem.
As computation and sensory capability become more a part of design and increases our ability to affect the world around us, it is important to stay grounded, and use design as a research tool to come to genuine insights, rather than just a problem-solving practice.
